Workday Wednesday - Art's Business Trip

These are the two sides of a postcard that I found in my Cubbage family collection. My grandfather, Art Cubbage, sent this to my grandmother, Agnes Speck Cubbage, in 1963. It appears that he was on a business trip in Chicago and was sent as "pictorial proof that I am working hard!"

At this time, my grandfather was working in sales for Simmons-Boardman Publishing, specifically for Railway Age magazine where he traveled to various conventions and trade shows.

  1. Hello!

I googled the name, "Cubbage" and this blog was the first one that came up. Not sure if you still watch this as the last update was in 2015, but I too am working on the Cubbage genealogy but I think your branch is different from my husband's branch as I couldn't locate any names on this blog that match his tree. He descends from William Cubbage and his wife, Sarah "Sally" Nicholson. Not sure if you'd have more information on this at all as that is where I'm stuck, but it would be wonderful if there was some sort of relation along the line.

If you'd like to check it out, I'm on Ancestry.com, just look for the Walthall-Stirnkorb tree, I'm the owner of this.

    Until then, happy history hunting!

    1. I looked at your William Cubbage and Sarah "Sally" Nicholson and it appears your family is from VA. My Cubbages are from western PA, but I wonder if there are connections between the PA, VA and DE Cubbages back in Ireland? You can email me at mldraper@optonline.net if you want to compare info. Looking forward to hearing from you!
