Tombstone Tuesday - Gerhard Linneman
Gerhard Linneman was my great grand uncle. He was born in Germany and died in Pittsburgh, PA, although he lived most of his life in Monessen, PA. He was buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Sheraden, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh.

Friday's Faces from the Past - Mystery Photo
This photo was found in my grandparent's collection of family photos and memorabilia. There are no markings or notes on the back. I do like this picture though - his big smile and her big kiss!

Wedding Wednesday - Charles A. Cubbage and Maine Schwank
The Marriage Record of my great-grandparents, Charles A. Cubbage and Maine Schwank. They were married on May 21, 1902 in Mahoning County, OH, probably in Youngstown based on where the Probate Judge was seated. This was about 75 miles from Swissvale and Braddock, where Maine and Charles were living. I do not know why they went to Ohio to marry, but Maine's brother married in Mahoning County (the same Judge) about 7 months earlier.

Wordless Wednesday - Art Cubbage
"Artie at sixteen"
This is a picture of my grandfather, Art Cubbage, at age sixteen. It would have been the summer of 1929 and he was living in Monessen, PA at the time. I need to do a little research to see where he would have been swimming in the Monessen area.

Sentimental Sunday - A Belated Happy Easter!
I'm back after a hectic few weeks - a spring break trip to Washington, DC, Easter and Little League opening day! So here is a belated Happy Easter!
My grandfather took this picture of my father Corky and his brother Jeff, along with neighbors Sandy and Sue on Easter Sunday. They are sitting on the front steps of the Cubbage home in New Providence, NJ and are all in their "Sunday best". If you look closely, there are three dogs! Skippy and Topper were Cork and Jeff's dogs; the other must be a neighbor's dog. There are also baseball gloves on the grass and Sue's lap. Maybe the Corky and Jeff were playing catch before church?? Boys will be boys!
